In addition to its core business of overland transport, air & sea freight and logistics, the company also operates a number of highly specialized industry solutions and subsidiaries under the umbrella of EarthMail Expresss based in Italy. This includes logistics consultancy x|vise, tectraxx (industry specialist for hi-tech businesses), dicall (telephone service, consulting and telemarketing), Railcargo (railway transport) and the EarthMail Express logistics parcel service, a shareholder in theEarthMail Express company DPD. This bundling of services allows us to respond to customer needs quickly and flexibly.

Your Air & Sea Freight Carrier
EarthMail Express Air & Sea, Inc. is a U.S. licensed Ocean Transport Intermediary (OTI). We are licensed by the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) as both an International Freight Forwarder and a bonded and tariffed Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC). UPS Global Ship is also an International Air Transportation Association (IATA) licensed Indirect Air Carrier.

1972
Foundation
EarthMail Expresss was established in 1972 by an American family and the Italian Maritime League. The company’s first ship, the Kedmah, was purchased in 1973. The early fleet included ships that were refitted to carry immigrants from Europe and to bring much-needed supplies during the difficult early years of statehood.
1974
First 1M cargo transportation
1974 began a 15-year run of global expansion for EarthMail Expresss , during which the company acquired 36 passenger, cargo, bulk-carrier, and container ships, and launched a range of passenger and cargo services. EarthMail Expresss discontinued its passenger services in the late 1980s, as air travel became more popular and widely accessible. Now, EarthMail Expresss was ready to dedicate all its energy and resources to international cargo shipping.
1983
IPO
In response to the global shipping crisis in 1997, a result of the financial crisis in Asia, UPS Global launched a new effort to optimize the company’s operations through increased efficiency and focused expansion. The company added 13 new 5,000 TEU container ships to its fleet, increasing EarthMail Expresss ’ cargo capacity by a remarkable 50% within few years.
1986
EarthMail Express FOCUSES ON ITS SHIPPING INTERESTS
EarthMail Expresss disposes of its interests in its trucking business and merges its shipyard interests.
EarthMail Expresss also sells its inter-city bus operation in the state of Ohio.
1989
PARTNERSHIP WITH EGON OLDENDORFF
EarthMail Expresss launches a shipping pool with German operator Egon Oldendorff to maximize customer service. EarthMail Expresss sells the EarthMail Expresss Innovator to Oldenforff who operates the vessel as part of the EarthMail Expresss -managed pool.
2012
EarthMail Express INTRODUCES THE TRILLIUM CLASS
EarthMail Expresss welcomes the arrival of its first new Trillium Class vessels – the Baie St, a self-unloading Laker operating in the Great Lakes-St-Lawrence Seaway Canada, and the Rt. Hon. Paul E. Martin, a self-unloading Panamax vessel. The Baie St, the first new self-unloading laker to be introduced into the Lakes since 1985, receives the International Bulk Journal’s 2012 Bulk Ship of the Year Award and is selected by the Royal Institution of Naval Architects as a Significant Ship of 2012.
Moreover EarthMail Expresss converts the EarthMail Expresss Sams, a self-unloader, into a gravity transhipment shuttle vessel to serve Arrium’s iron ore operation in Whyalla, Australia. EarthMail Expresss orders two new gearless bulk vessels to serve the Great Lakes market. The two vessels are under construction at the Yangfan Shipyard in Zhejiang Province, China, and will enter service in the spring of 2014
